In a March 12, 2009 file photo, Minnesota Wild right winger Pierre-Marc Bouchard warms up before facing the Colorado Avalanche in Denver. Bouchard hasn't been able to play since the season opener because of post-concussion symptoms and can't even work out on his own, as long as he still has headaches. So while the rest of his teammates take time off during the Olympic break, resting is the last thing Bouchard wants to do.

Pierre-Marc Bouchard was supposed to be centering Minnesota’s second line this season. Instead, he’s been watching helplessly and without expression from a perch in the press box while the Wild play without him. His pads, jersey and helmet have been replaced by a black wool coat and a scarf. This is what recovering from a concussion can look like.
